Wrapping up a fantastic month of our free Holiday Playscheme!

Over the past four weeks, we’ve welcomed 25 primary-aged children each day to Playscheme, providing a safe, inclusive, and fun space for play right here in our community.

These sessions have been about much more than just fun — they’re vital for children’s wellbeing, helping to build confidence, foster friendships, and create lasting memories. Sessions include snacks and lunch, to fuel the variety of sports, arts & crafts on offer.

Running from Leith Community Centre and accessing local outdoor spaces, it’s been amazing to meet some new faces and welcome along existing members of our groups over the month.

One parent shared: “My son enjoyed the playscheme so much, he said it’s the best and he wishes he could stay all day long!”

A huge thank you to Leith Community Fund and Cash for Kids for their generous support, making it possible to again offer this opportunity at no cost to families. Whilst a big thank you to partners Leith Community Centre who support the project through free use of the centre each day.

It’s great to see children thrive through play, and our Play sessions will be back to business as usual when the school term resumes, with Tuesday Playrangers at Cables Wynd and Friday Play at Duncan Place Resource Centre & Leith Links.
