It was brilliant to welcome the Lord Provost and Volunteer Edinburgh to YMCA Edinburgh this week — chatting with a couple of amazing mentors about their volunteering journeys, visiting a very busy (and wet!) outdoor play session with some superb nature crafting, and hearing first-hand about the impact of some brilliant youth activists.
The Lord Provost also shared about his previous work in homelessness and his passion for supporting people to have their voices heard for change — a message that resonated with the team and volunteers.
A special highlight was meeting Daniel Ndlovu (in action, volunteering at Playrangers), who was recognised at City Chambers for his volunteering with YMCA Edinburgh and our partner Street Soccer Scotland. Well done to Daniel, who recently also received a Harbour Community Champion award — so well deserved!
All in, it was another inspiring reminder of the passion, energy and kindness our volunteers bring. You make an incredible difference every day, so to you all- a big thanks for doing what you do.
